Following a winter of cold snaps, snow, rain, a bit more snow and you guessed it more rain the opening week of the carping season got underway last week signaling the end of the close season, much to everyone’s delight!
The winter-feed programmes have been extremely successful so we are hoping for some great results for the 2015 carping season.
Prior to opening we had a couple of friends help us finish the new swim rebuilds on Simon’s Lake and they did a terrific job. Working in terrible conditions the lads worked their socks off so a big thank you goes out to Aiden and Paul! Obviously the lads found a bit of time to fit in a spot of fishing whilst they were here and Paul managed to catch a cracking 47lb Mirror from the North Lake.
All three lakes have now been rebuilt and are comfortable, bivvy friendly and of the same high standards as the North Lake.
New to 2015 is a change in bait supplier. We’ve opted to use Sticky Baits and will now be using two boilies in the range, Krill and the Bloodworm in 16mm and 20mm sizes and we also stock a full range of additional products.
Over the winter we have also had a fantastic new website built so keep popping back and checking our latest updates and most recent pictures!
The North Lake was booked on an exclusive hire by 3 lads James, Stu and Simon. Weather wise it wasn’t the best week, with the 3 lads experiencing full gale force cold winds all week along with driving rain. But that didn’t stop them having a good trip and achieving personal bests with fish up to 51lbs, including a new 50 for us this season to add to the growing list of fish we already have.
