Here is the long awaited update on Merve the Sturgeon that was badly damaged back in August due to being wrapped up and snagged in several anglers lost tackle that ” WERE NOT REPORTED “.I decided to take the risk to try and save Merve and have a go at performing surgery on him instead of killing him due to being almost cut in half on both sides and also severe fin damage too. The surgery all went well on the day and have the right medical kits and treatments on site also helped. Having the right suture kits did really help and speed the whole process up and kept The Surgery as quick as possible for poor Merve.I decided to keep him in our pond and keep a close eye on him and kept treating the wounds with anti fungal and bacteria treatments every 3-4 weeks and thought would be best to keep him safe until the flesh/skin completely closed and knitted together
So as you can see in the pictures there are some before and after shots and I am pleased to say Merve has made a full recovery and the very deep wounds have repaired and he has now gone back to his home in Jolly pads to fight another day and give some anglers some serious pleasure and fights for 2016.
As you can see in the photos the cuts were very bad and there are also some photo’s of the surgery that I performed and the recovery of Merve
Cheers
