It’s been all go here at Eden’s Lakes. As part of our preparations for the 2017 carp-fishing season, we have been undertaking a very special project… a complete refurbishment of our toilet and shower block!
We are very proud of our facilities, and an update has been on the cards for some time. So, we started stripping out the shower block at the beginning of February. In their place, we conceived a grand plan to install:
• Two separate, fully insulated rooms with tiled walls and floors.
• Brand new tiled shower rooms complete with basins, toilets, central heating, lighting and extractors.
• A third, separate toilet room.
Once we had finished our initial prep, the real work could start! We set about replacing floors and digging up pipes and septic tank pipes. We laid new water lines and fitted new electrics, plumbing, lagging, stud walling, insulation and plasterboard. We had all hands on deck, putting in 12 – 14 hours of solid work each day.
Ten long days and countless 11pm finishes later, and we were done! We couldn’t be happier with how the project has turned out, and all that’s left to do is rub everything down ready for painting, decorating and those all-important finishing touches.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our very own master builder, Martin South, for taking on this project. We’d also like to thank Derek Jennings for all of his hard work, as well as our very own Karen, for keeping us fuelled up with some truly delicious food.
We can’t wait for our visitors to try out our new centrally heated toilet and shower block when they come carp fishing in France. You are going to love it even more than we do!
