What can I say what a total difference in weather we have this week after 8 weeks of high scorching temps with no rain. It actually rained for 10 minutes but it has cooled down to low to mid 20s and strong cold winds, perfect fishing conditions (well you would think so!) .
Two lakes on the go this week Simon’s Lake and Jolly Pads as North Lake has been rested for a few weeks and of course our mid season break. Jolly pads was off to a flyer with plenty of action for Dave and son Patrick with a nice string of nice 20s to just under 30lb,whilst the lads Ross, Dale, Ryan and Tom on Simon’s Lake started a bit slower but a great stamp of higher end 30lb fish, but it was fishing hard with plenty of fish showing in ½ the lake so was frustrating for everyone.
But the guys were working hard for the fish and myself and the guys were trying different approaches to try and get the fish to get their heads down and feed properly, but as said was a hard week for the guys on Simon’s and had some nice fish TO 42.11LB, were as Dave and Patrick were having plenty of action on Jollies as the week went on the catch sheets were filling up and then I discovered that they were “NOT FISHING THE NIGHTS” so all the fish they were catching had been day time fish or from they woke up and fished a few hours before breakfast.
So well done to all this week with the changes in weather and a few miserable days and hard fishing but You all worked hard for the fish you caught and that’s what fishing is about, no arguments or moods between everyone just good old banter UNTIL NEXT TIME –X-
