A bit of a quiet week here at Eden’s Lakes following a last minute cancellation on the North Lake. But we still had two cracking lads, James and Stuart, fishing Simon’s Lake. Their trip didn’t get off to the best of starts after their car broke down at Dover on the Friday. After waiting for their replacement car and arranging a new ferry over the guys finally arrived at around 9.30pm on Saturday evening looking battered, tired and hungry, ooh and to top it all off the rain was hammering it down outside. So after sorting the lads out with a few beers and some much needed dinner I took them down to Simon’s Lake and gave them a brief description in the pitch black and the pouring rain, not the start the boys had imagined.
After a bad start to the week the lads were soon settled in and fishing, and it didn’t take long for them both to achieve personal bests! The fish were ticking over nicely for the lads and a good stamp too. By Tuesday the weather had improved with warm sunny days, but in the evenings temperatures dropped drastically to freezing with ice and frost forming. This caused the fishing to slow down again. These conditions lasted for two days before the torrential downpours returned, and boy did it rain?!? It probably dropped a month’s worth of rain in just 24 hours, flooding the grounds of the complex and the lakes were at full capacity.
The rain stayed for the duration of the lads stay but that didn’t deter them! The lads continued to plod away despite the changeable weather conditions and had some cracking fish between them. Both broke their personal bests on several occasions with over 30 fish up to 42.00lb
