Another week down and what a frustrating one it’s been. We had regular visitors Martin, Derek and John pay us a visit along with Martin’s son Luke who was visiting the complex for the first time.
Following several unsettled weeks weather wise we were not expecting a heat wave for most of the week! Soaring temperatures of up to 34 degrees resulted in several anglers experiencing sunburn. Towards the back end of the week we experienced cloudy and cooler temperatures with the odd shower here and there.
Despite the decent weather the fish didn’t want to play ball this week with a few showing, boiling, rolling and dolphining out as everything else was hatching in and around the lake, even the roach have started spawning in the last 24 hours. But this didn’t stop the lads catching some nice fish including 29.12lb, 35.06lb, 36.02lb, 36.08lb 41.00lb, 45.08lb and 51.06lb with a nice average of 39.04lb.
It was a memorable week for young Luke in particular, who managed to net a new p/best and his first fifty at 51.06lb with our resident fish known as Gilly. Not a bad first week at Eden’s Lake for Luke who also claimed top rod for the week.
Next week we’ll have two lakes on the go so we shall see how it goes if the weather remains the same and the lakes settle down.
The lads made it a great week here at Eden’s Lakes and they’ve already re-booked their week for 2016, we’ll see you again next year!
